Tommy Sheridan is tonight behind bars. The former Socialist MSP has been jailed for three years for committing perjury. He was convicted last month of lying during his defamation case against the News of the World. Also; the Scottish Government has been told it must change it's spending plans or face defeat at Holyrood, charges against a Celtic footballer and his wife who were accused of leaving a child in a vehicle have been dropped and two men who beat a neighbour to death in his home have been jailed for life with a minimum term of 19 years. It came as MSPs debated and approved the general principles of the draft budget outlined by the Finance Secretary John Swinney.
